Terms of Use
Draft document
This document is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer yet and may change before release.
These terms apply when you use the PuppyPup app for iPhone or this website. PuppyPup is operated by Denys Petriiev, Ukraine.
They are written in plain language on purpose. If something here is unclear, ask at support.puppypup@gmail.com before you rely on your own reading of it.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating a PuppyPup account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not create an account, and delete the app.
PuppyPup is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple’s own terms apply to that distribution alongside these terms.
2. Your right to use PuppyPup
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use PuppyPup on devices you control, for looking after dogs. That right lasts while you follow these terms.
- You may not copy, resell, rent or sublicense the app.
- You may not reverse engineer it, except where the law explicitly allows it.
- You may not use it to build a competing service, or scrape it in bulk.
- You may not interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses without permission, or try to reach data that is not yours.
3. Age
PuppyPup is for adults. You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live. If you are not, do not create an account.
4. Your account
You need a verified e-mail address and one sign-in method: a password, Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. Give accurate information and keep your e-mail address current, because it is how the service reaches you.
One account belongs to one person. Do not share your account with someone else — invite them to your family instead, which is what family roles are for.
5. Keeping your account safe
You are responsible for your password and for the devices you stay signed in on. Do not reuse a password you use elsewhere. If you think someone else has reached your account, change your password and write to support.puppypup@gmail.com immediately.
6. Acceptable use
PuppyPup is for keeping records about dogs you look after. When you use it, you agree not to:
- break the law, or use PuppyPup to help someone else break it,
- upload content you have no right to upload,
- upload another person’s documents or personal details without their agreement,
- harass, impersonate or mislead other users,
- upload malware, or attempt to disrupt the service for others,
- use PuppyPup to provide veterinary or medical services to third parties.
7. Families, roles and granted access
A family groups the people who look after the same dogs. The owner of a dog decides who is in the family, what role each person has, and who else may see or change that dog’s records.
- When you invite someone, you are supplying their e-mail address to the service — only invite people who expect it.
- When you grant access to a dog, that person can see the records your permissions allow, including uploaded images.
- Access can be permanent or limited in time, and can be withdrawn at any moment.
- When you accept access to someone else’s dog, treat what you see as theirs: do not copy it or pass it on.
Withdrawing access stops future access. It cannot undo what somebody already saw or saved on their own device.
8. Your content
Everything you put into PuppyPup — profiles, records, notes, photos and documents — stays yours. Ownership does not transfer to us.
To run the service, you give us a limited technical licence to store, copy, transmit, resize and display your content: hosting it, backing it up, converting an uploaded image into a normalised copy, and showing it to the people you shared it with. Nothing more. The licence exists only to operate PuppyPup for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that remain briefly in routine backups.
We do not use your content to train models, and we do not publish it.
9. PuppyPup is not veterinary advice
PuppyPup organises information you enter about your dog. It does not verify that the information is correct, does not diagnose, does not prescribe treatment and does not replace a consultation with a veterinarian.
Not for emergencies
PuppyPup is not an emergency service. Reminders may be late, may not arrive, or may be based on something you typed incorrectly. If your dog needs urgent help, contact your veterinarian or a local emergency veterinary service directly. Full text: medical disclaimer.
Do not use PuppyPup as the only place a critical piece of information exists. Keep the original documents.
10. Third-party services
PuppyPup uses Apple and Google for sign-in and Apple for distribution, and relies on hosting and e-mail providers to operate. Those services have their own terms and their own privacy policies, and we do not control them. If one of them is unavailable, part of PuppyPup may be unavailable too.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, without asking us. How deletion works explains what is removed and what happens to shared data.
Deletion is permanent. Export or photograph anything you want to keep before you confirm it.
12. Suspension and termination by us
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm other users, or that we are legally required to act on. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
We may also stop offering PuppyPup. If that happens, you will be given reasonable notice and time to retrieve your records.
13. Availability
PuppyPup is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, that reminders will always be delivered, or that it will be free of faults. We work to keep it running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
14. PuppyPup’s intellectual property
The PuppyPup name, logo, app icon, artwork, interface and software belong to Denys Petriiev. These terms do not give you any right to use them beyond using the app itself.
15. Changes to these terms
These terms can change as the app changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and previous versions stay available on the legal page. For a change that materially affects you, you will be notified in the app or by e-mail before it takes effect. Continuing to use PuppyPup after that means you accept the new version.
16. Governing law
The applicable law and the competent courts for these terms are not stated yet. This section will be completed with legal advice before release, and this page will show the confirmed text. Nothing here is intended to remove mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
